Early this year, a small group of local biodiesel users, frustrated
with unreliable supplies, joined forces to provide the community
with a sustainable alternative to petroleum fuel.
MEMBERSHIP:
We are a cooperative organization designed to provide bulk purchase fuel benefits to our members. Membership dues pay for operational expenses and fuel is purchased with no markup to ourselves. We lease a trailer from SOCALBUG with 1000 gallons of biodiesel in 3 tanks and a solar powered fueling pump. We had 13 members as of May 31st, when we commissioned the trailer in Ojai, and gained 4 new members that day.
Membership Dues: $ 50 (paid annually on May 1, covers insurance and other operational costs)
Fueling Deposit: $250 (refundable upon membership cancellation)

Fuel price is extremely volatile and keeps pace with the rising price of diesel. Please contact us before you send your fuel pre-purchase checks to verify price. Make all checks to:

Ventura, CA 93001The fuel that is currently in the trailer was purchased at $5.26 per gallon. The B99.9 fuel is made to ASTM D-6751 specs and sourced from local recycled waste vegetable oil by Standard Bio Diesel in Woodland Hills.
You MUST get a safety orientation from Topher, Kent, Paul or another trained member BEFORE you are OK to fuel.

TRAILER FUND:
Please remember that the startup cost to purchase and build the trailer is separate from the co-op, and we are actively trying to raise money now. SOCALBUG owns the trailer and all donations are tax-deductible, see our trailer fundraising letter. We need to raise $15,000 and currently we are around $4000. The attached letter and receipt form should be helpful if you or someone you know wants to make a donation.
We STRONGLY encourage a donation in support of the trailer with your membership in the VC Biodiesel Co-op. This money goes towards the first mobile biodiesel fueling dispensary in Ventura County owned by the people for the people!
